Installing your new HRV Grips® on your Python/Anaconda 2021+

This is a copy of the sheet we include in every Hogue Python/Anaconda grip sold. Many people make the mistake of opening the package and jumping right into the installation. While we understand the excitement of your new custom HRV Grips®, we also know the reality is you will most likely install them incorrectly. The common thought of installing the Hogue assembly pin into the designated grip alignment pin pinhole is natural, however the pin used in the Hogue grip hanger assembly is not an alignment pin, which is the reason the pin is made smaller than the hole. Installing the assembly bracket into the pin hole will result in misalignment and the grips will not seat fully onto the grip frame. In cases where force is used to try to install the grips we have seen the grips actually crack in half. Please pay attention to this simple step in the installation. We promise you will have your new HRV Grips® installed much sooner and will have a smooth installation.

Finally lets discuss the rubber stop. This small piece is meant to hold the assembly in position during the installation. As indicated in the drawing the rubber stop goes between the bottom of the grip frame and the assembly. This keeps the assembly down at the proper distance when pushing the grip up onto the frame, its sole purpose is to keep the distance between the hanger nut and the screw hole on the grip, allowing the hanger assembly to fully seat and the screw to catch the nut. If you have any questions about any installation please feel free to contact us.

Installing your King Cobra Target grips

We think it important to point out as some of you are not aware of the design Colt utilizes to address solid grips fitting their revolvers. As shown in this official Colt video there is a space around the outside grip frame. This is a proper fit and the grips are designed to install to the top crest (half moon) section and the alignment pin. Due to frame variations and sizing differences due to machining and hand finishing Colt utilizes the “alignment pin” method to allow grips to fit properly across the variations of frame sizing. As such the outer section will most likely not touch the grip frame when properly installed. This photo was captured from the YouTube video from the official Colt channel. PRESS HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO
